Experiment # 11:
To measure the inner/ outer radius of the given specimen using radius gauge(s).
1. Objectives
Students will be able to
1. Learn about the measurement of the internal and external radius using inner and outer
radius gauges, respectively.
2. Equipment
1. Radius gauge (Inner and Outer)
2. Suitable Specimen for Measurement
3. Radius Gauge
It is used for determining the radius of a fillet. Radius gauge consists of a set of blades on
each of which the corresponding radius is marked. By placing the correct gauge & by observing
the light source with eyes, the correct radius can be checked. Radius gages are available in a set
that offers a range of sizes. A good set of gauges will offer both convex and concave sections,
and allow for their application in awkward locations.
