Explanation- PM Modi held a review meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor

(NSA) Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and top intelligence establishment over the Nagrota

terror attack. The ministry of external affairs (MEA) summoned an official of the Pakistan high commission in

Delhi over the encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota where four terrorists were killed in a gun battle with

security forces on Thursday, news agency ANI reported on Saturday. “India conveyed strong concern to Pakistan

over terror attack planned by JeM in J-K. Strong protest lodged demanding Pakistan stops supporting terrorists

operating from their territory. The government of India is firm and resolute in taking all the necessary measures to

1.FC Goa start ISL campaign against Sunil Chhetri-led _______
a) Bengaluru
b) Hydrabad
c) Mumbai
d) Delhi

Explanation- FC Goa have never won the coveted ISL trophy and would be hoping that this time around they go
one step forward than 2018 and 2015 seasons, when they emerged as runners-up. A new-look FC Goa,
strengthened with the addition of new foreign players and a new head coach, will begin their Indian Super League
campaign with a new vigour when they clash with formidable Bengaluru FC, here on Sunday. FC Goa have never
won the coveted ISL trophy and would be hoping that this time around they go one step forward than 2018 and
2015 seasons, when they emerged as runners-up. But it won’t be an easy task for coach Juan Ferrando, who wants
the club to continue playing attacking brand of football, which they also played under their previous coach Sergio
Lobera. “We would continue to play attacking brand of football, playing the game on the front foot. That is the
philosophy of the club and that is what really attracted me to the job. It is aligned with the kind of football I
believe in,” Ferrando said. FC Goa, who won the League Winners Shield last season to become the first side from
India to qualify for the group stage of the AFC Champions League, have parted ways with the likes of star
forwards Ferran Corominas and Hugo Boumous who have established themselves as feared goal scorers in the
ISL over the years. They have added a few quality players, both domestic and foreign, and their familiarity with
the home conditions will come handy in their bid to at least reach the play-offs stage. FC Goa would bank on their
Spanish lethal striker Igor Angulo proves his mettle right from the beginning. The coach has options in other
forwards like Aaren D’Silva, Devendra Murgaonkar, Ishan Pandita and Makan Chothe, to choose from, to support
Angulo. But Goa has an array of strong mid-fielders, the prominent among being skipper Edu Bedia, who can
decide the fate of the game. Also, the likes of India international Brandon Fernandes, Lenny Rodrigues, Albert
Noguera, and Jorge Ortiz, will have to play their role as feeders. The departure of utility mid-fielders like Ahmed
Jahouh and Hugo Boumous, would put more pressure on Noguera, who will have to establish himself as a link
between Bedia and Angulo. A new-look FC Goa, strengthened with the addition of new foreign players and a

Ivan Gonzalez and James Donachie apart from other local defenders to man the line and thwart the opposition
attack. On the other hand, Bengaluru, who have won the ISL once, would also be hoping for a winning start and
contribution of star striker Sunil Chhetri would be the key. The Bengaluru team boasts of a well-rounded unit and
will be a tough opponent first up. The prolific Chhetri can turn a game on its head single handedly and with a
strong support cast, BFC will be hard to beat. Another important cog in BFC’s wheel is experienced custodian
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who kept the record of 11 clean-sheets last season. His role would be equally important
as that of Chhetri.

2.‘Don’t worry about ______’, Marcus Stoinis confident about India captain being ‘110 percent’ motivated
a) MS Dhoni
b) Ishan Sharma
c) Virat Kohli
d) Rohit Sharma

Explanation- Marcus Stoinis, supporting Virat Kohli’s move to return to wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of

the couple’s first child, expects the India skipper to hit the ground running ahead of the seven matches that he

will play. With Virat Kohli set to return from Australia after the first of the four Tests, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis

reckons the India captain will be no less than ‘110 percent motivated’ as long as he’s there. India play Australia

in three ODIs and three T20Is, before beginning their defence of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which they retained

with a 2-1 win in 2018/19. In the seven matches that he will play, Stoinis, supporting Kohli’s move to return to

wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of the couple’s first child, expects the India skipper to hit the ground running.

“Don’t worry about Virat, he’s up for every single game that he’s playing. Yeah, maybe there will be extra

motivation, but I don’t think there’s any extra motivation than 110%. So let’s see. I am sure he will be ready to

go. He is getting home for the birth of his kid, which is the right decision in my opinion. So I am sure he will be

extra motivated,” Stoinis said during a press interaction. Stoinis heads into the limited-overs series on the back of

a good IPL 2020, where he scored 352 runs and took 13 wickets, playing a crucial role in Delhi Capitals’ road to

the final. The all-rounder is hoping Australia can get Kohli without the India captain inflicting much damage.

Kohli hit a century the last time India played an ODI series in Australia, helping the team to a 2-1 triumph and

Stoinis is hoping his team can prevent something similar from happening. “We’ve definitely got our strategies,

we’ve had things that have worked in the past, and at other times the same plans haven’t worked and he’s made

some runs. Obviously he is a great player, and to all these good players, you do what you want to do, you have

your plans, and on the day, you get extra competitive and you hope it all falls in your side of the court,” Stoinis

explained.

3.ISL 2020: ATK Mohun Bagan start off with 1-0 win over ______ Blasters

a) Hydrabad

b) Kerala
c) Punjab

d) Andra Pradesh

Explanation- Fijian hitman Roy Krishna, who was ATK’s top goal scorer with 15 goals last season, struck the
all-important goal after a 67 minute deadlock to give the all-important three points for the green-and-maroon
brigade. It just had to be him, isn’t it? After making the debut Indian Super League (ISL) season his own by being
the joint highest-scorer (15 goals) for last year’s champions ATK, Roy Krishna got ISL-7 and ATK Mohun Bagan
going with the decisive winner against Kerala Blasters FC at a closed GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa, on
Friday. In an otherwise unusual start to this unusual pandemic-hit ISL season that saw multiple muffed chances,
an injury substitution inside the first 15 minutes and a drinks breaks in either half, the Fijian striker made the
difference in a 1-0 victory for the new ATK Mohun Bagan combine.
