Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):
☐ Remembering ☐ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☒ Evaluating ☐ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This lesson will be accessible by all students. The use of BBPT’s to allow
students to view or even create refreshing and engaging projects is a great way to use technology and reach
the highest levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Students are able to watch videos and answer specific content driven
questions for a grade while interacting with the subject matter in a new way. This activity allows for students
to learn and move at their own pace. Students will. Using video with the direct question asking feature can
expand the classroom by reaching students in their homes and are highly stimulating to children with short
attention spans all while promoting digital literacy. This lesson is also flexible for various learners because it
can be paused at different parts and explained further, or in another way. Videos allow teachers to give more
personal attention to students and act as a facilitator to learning.
Lesson idea implementation: The content standards will be addressed as the students watch the Edpuzzle
video. During the video, questions will appear for the students to answer. Students have the opportunity to
pause or re-watch a specific section if they are unsure of the answer, however the answers will be logged for
a grade by the teacher.

The lesson should be completed as a homework assignment and should take less than ten minutes to
complete. Students will be assessed by the answers to the questions. This assignment would reinforce what
was taught in the classroom and provide an opportunity to cement new information in the student’s minds.
As a follow up project, students could make their own Edpuzzle as assignments to the class on another area of
content within the standard. Feedback will be given through the grading process.

Reflective Practice: Students should have an elementary understanding of volcanoes following this
assignment. This would be used as an addition to a deeper study done in the classroom. To add on to this,
students could record their own videos on the content standard and then create their own questions in an
Edpuzzle of their own video.
