1. The Body Mass Index ( BMI) is the weight of a person in kilograms divided into meters by
the square of height. An indication of high body fatness may be a high BMI. BMI may be
used to test for weight categories that may contribute to health conditions, but the body
fat or health of a person is not diagnosed.

2. FORMULA:
Weight (kg)/ Height (m)​²
Height = 153 Height²= 23409
Weight = 58

58/153² = 24.8 normal weight

3. BMI is important because according to the World Health Organization, it is widely


regarded that your chances of having a longer and healthier life are improved if you have
a healthy BMI.I f your BMI is high, you may also have an increased risk of developing
type 2 diabetes, as well as other metabolic diseases such as hypertension, high
cholesterol and heart disease.

4. In order to achieve the level of effort needed for cardiovascular fitness, appropriate to the
age , gender, or physical fitness of a person, the target heart rate is defined as the
minimum number of heartbeats in a given period of time.

5. TARGET HEART RATE AT REST = 90 bpm per minute


HEART RATE DURING MODERATE ACTIVITIES =111 bpm per minute
HEART RATE DURING RIGOROUS ACTIVITIES = 162 bpm per minute
