Introduction

Videos
Ppt Students will listen to the UAE anthem.
Tr: you have to switch your Camera and Microphone off and be on time.
20 mins Tr: now we will listen to the Month of the year song.
Tr: what month is this?
Ss: October.
Tr: what date is today?
Ss: 11.
Students will listen to “7 days of the week song”
tr: what day is today?
Ss: Sunday.
Tr: how many days we have in the week?
Ss: 7.

- Prior knowledge:
Tr: before we begin the lesson, who can tell me an example of an even
number?
Ss: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16….
Tr: who can tell me an example of an odd number?
Ss: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, ….

- Modelling:
Tr: let's take the attendance, please send one emoji in the chart.
Tr: you will need an eraser, math book, paper, pencil.
Tr: today we will learn how to add a two-digit number.
Tr: we will learn another way to add, numbers that end with “0” are easier to
add.
So, we will break apart addends to create numbers that end in 0.
For example, 15 can be 10 + 5

We will solve now

28 + 36 it’s had 2 ways

The first way is

28 + 36 =
We will break 36 to 2 + 34
then we will re-write the equation so we will bring 28 down so...
28 + 2 + 34
We will add 28 + 2 = 30
Then we will bring 34 down so it will be
30 + 34 = 64

-Another way to add 28 + 36 is to break 28 to 24 + 4

then we will re-write the equation so we will bring 36 down so...
24 + 4 + 36
Now add 4 + 36 = 40
We will bring down 24
So, it will be 24 + 40 = 64

-Here we have another equation,

18 + 35
We will break 35 to 2 + 33
We will re-write the equation so we will bring 18 down so...
18 + 2 + 33=
We will add 18 + 2 =
Tr: who can tell me? 18 + 2 = what?
Ss: 20
Tr: good, so 18 + 2 = 20
So, it will be 20 + 33 = 53

Main activities
& Time
PowerPoint - All the students:
Students book Tr will put a link in the chat box, its about spin wheel game that has equations
Pencil Ss will spin it and solve the equation that will show.
While the students solving the equation the teacher will ask the students how
15 mins many equations did you solve? What thing that you don’t understand?

After they finish,

Tr: take a picture of your answer and upload it in teams

https://wordwall.net/resource/5153567
After that, the teacher will solve the first “problem solving”, and let the
students solve the other one on their own after that ask one student to present
how he/she solve the equation.
