Summary of Parent’s interview:-

 Q1.How has the form of mass media changed?


Answer - (Past) During the age of 14 years, black &
white TV, radio, books, newspapers, telephone,
posters, billboards were exposed to them. They could
attend plays and movies once in a month with their
families. In the village areas the above mediums were
not accessible but only newspapers were available in
the city area of the village.
(Present) Whereas in today’s time there are smart TVs,
Smart phones & Smart watches. The digital world has
evolved much more.

 Q2.How has the prize of information from mass media


changed?
Answer - (Past) During the earlier days news could be
heard on Radio. Information was also available via
newspapers, books which were borrowed from library
only once in a month. Only 2 TV channels were available
where news, songs, serials and movies could be
viewed. Whereas in the villages people were lacking the
basic media information.
(Present) But in today’s time due to modern technology
one can get detailed information about a particular topic
through the use of internet and also news on different TV
channels, Google, You tube at any time convenient to
you. Information through periodicals, E-readers are
easily accessible in today’s time.
 Q3.How has the time spent on mass media changed?
Answer - (Past) They started their day with prayers
after which they enjoyed playing outdoor games. There
were a few people who could afford to have telephones,
newspapers and willingly shared among themselves.
(Present) But today’s world people are more used to
playing games on mobile phones, doing online shopping
etc., were there is a lack of physical exercise for the
human body. People utilise their time surfing on the
internet, Facebook and other social media apps.

 Q4.Which forms and brands of mass media were most


positive through the years?
Answer - (Past) There were a few TV brands like Crown,
Videocon etc. Quiz contests, singing competitions were
accessible on TVs and radios. Movies were viewed by
gathering together and watching it on TV. Magazines,
newspapers were also available.
(Present) Whereas today we have many branded TVs
with a variety of entertainment channels. Smart phones
and internet services are available in today’s world.

 Q5.How has the internet changed the mass media


landscape?
Answer - (Past) There were no sufficient facility for
communication in the earlier days.
(Present) But today’s world we can get in touch with
people sitting miles away by a single click of a button.
Today a two way communication has developed via
chats, video and audio calls. Smart phones, Laptops,
Tablets, are used to see movies, web series etc. Today
Internet has helped everyone in rural and urban areas.
