CHOIR MANAGER & PIANIST

Jamie Bowman is the director of choral activities for students in grades 6-12 in the
Gettysburg Area School District. Her choirs have performed for Hershey Park Music in the
Parks, Walt Disney World Performing Arts, and most recently, Disney’s Candlelight Processional.
Mrs. Bowman’s high school students regularly participate in the PMEA District 7 Chorus,
Regional 5 Chorus, and All-State Chorus as well as ACMEA’s County Chorus Festivals, and PMEA
District 7 Songfest. Mrs. Bowman has accompanied for PMEA District 7 Songfest, ACMEA
junior and senior high choirs, private voice and instrumental recitals, local choirs, and high
school musicals. She is the Director of Music for the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church where she
accompanies the Adult Choir and leads the Adult Bell Choir and Youth Choirs. Mrs. Bowman
holds a B.M. in Music Education and an M.M. in Music Education from West Chester
University and is currently finishing a Masters in Choral Conducting from Messiah College.

Brooke Maskin ’20 is a junior Music Education Major and Spanish Minor studying at
Gettysburg College. Her passion and admiration for learning and teaching music has brought
her many opportunities within the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. These include holding
positions as a student music ambassador, being one of the Bullet’s Marching Band Drum

Majors, and serving as the treasurer for Gettysburg College’s chapter of the Collegiate
National Association for Music Education. Brooke has enjoyed every rehearsal and is
extremely grateful for time she has had with the Children’s Choir and Chamber Chorale this
semester.

Located on the campus of Gettysburg College, the Gettysburg Children’s Choir provides
access to a choral program of the highest quality for young people in grades three through

twelve from all cultural and economic backgrounds. The organization serves as a model for
diverse and quality choral literature and vocal training. Students achieve a level of artistic
excellence necessary to perform at various regional and national settings. The choirs rehearse
on Monday evenings from late August through May. For information about how to join, visit

Thanks to the generosity of many, we have raised $13,982 in memory of the co-founder of
the Gettysburg Children’s Choir, Jane Lambertson Jones (1948 – 2018), whose passion and

love for children and music made our world a more beautiful place. We are currently in a Brooke Maskin,‘20 College Intern
fundraising campaign to bring the Jane Jones Memorial Fund to $20,000, which will
allow us to provide six full scholarships each year to students with significant financial need.
The Gettysburg Children's Choir is a 501 c(3) organization and donations are tax deductible.

17325 or paid directly through our website. This program is supported in part by the Adams Church of the Abiding Presence
County Arts Council’s STAR Grant Program which is funded by the Adams County
Commissioners, the Borough of Gettysburg, and the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg
Endowment Trust. The Choir receives in-kind support from Gettysburg College and annual
fund gifts from many individual donors. Nearly one-third of our students are on financial 61 Seminary Ridge, Gettysburg, PA 17325
assistance and our low annual tuition of $130/pupil only covers half of our operating costs.

Brent C. Talbot is Associate Professor and Coordinator of Music Education at
