Foie Gras: Emmental or Gruyere, Roasted in The Oven
Foie Gras: Emmental or Gruyere, Roasted in The Oven
Boeuf Bourguignon
It's a traditional meal in French cuisine. It
owes its name to its two key ingredients:
beef and wine, two emblematic products of
Burgundy
Croque-Monsieur
The croque monsieur is a sandwich made with
sliced bread, cooked ham and cheese, usually
Emmental or Gruyere, roasted in the oven,
grilled or in a frying pan. Most of the time it's
served au gratin. It's a famous French
sandwich that has become popular worldwide.
Coq Au Vin
Another well-known stew of French cuisine is Coq Au Vin, which is nothing more than a
stewed chicken with wine. It has many ingredients such as carrots, onions, shallots, garlic
and of course a big chicken and wine.
Croissant
The aroma of butter in the French
croissants awakens all the senses and it's
great to start the day with a good brooch
accompanied by a café au lait. But be
careful where you go to take it because,
especially in Paris, can be very expensive a
breakfast as simple as this.
Soupe à l’oignons
It is an emblematic dish of traditional
French cuisine. It was invented during the
French Revolution when only simple
ingredients were available for cooking. It is
made with small pieces of bread, meat broth
and caramelized onions. And attention:
cooking time cannot exceed 2 hours! It’s
one of the best examples of typical French
food, no doubt about it.
Le gratin dauphinois
Originally from France (more precisely in
the Dolphin region of the French Alps), it
is a baked dish of thinly sliced potatoes au
gratin mixed with fresh cream or milk. Besides, they usually add a lot of cheese and
mushrooms . . . what would the French do without cheese!
Ratatouille
It is a specialty of the south of France, as
well as one of the most famous typical
French dishes. It’s a healthy recipe that
mixes tomatoes, garlic, peppers, zucchini and
aubergines with various Provencal herbs.
