Reflection

It is essential to provide students with a positive and caring learning environment.

Educators should be able to provide their students with various instructional strategies that target

students learning needs. Not all students learn the same way thus, it is the responsibility of the

teacher to make sure that all students are successful learners. Equity is an essential part of

education and every student should get the tools and resources they need to learn and strive in

the classroom. Students should be upheld to the highest expectations and ensure that they are

able to learn and flourish. In the classroom, students should be encouraged to be critical thinkers

and collaborate with their peers to expand their thinking. Educators should expand their

students’ curiosity of the content that they are learning and interacting with. I believe in

providing students with the tools and resources they need to reach their highest potential.

Throughout my program, I have observed and learned various instructional strategies that

encourage students learning and provoke students to be critical thinkers. During my classroom

observations, I have been able to observe exceptional teachers who used teaching strategies to

support various learning needs. It is also important to reflect on teaching practices and adjust

accordingly. I strongly agree with all of the five principles of the Model Code of Ethics for

Educators. As educators, we have a great responsibility to all students, the profession, the

school, and community. I adhere to learn about my students’ background, families, and learning

needs. It is exceptionally important to make connections with students and understand their

unique capabilities. Also, it is essential to collaborate with other teachers and school personnel to

better assist students and their learning needs. The goal is to make sure that every student thrive

in their schooling.
