ETHICS TERM 1: INTOLERANCE CASE STUDY ASSIGNMENT

Due Date: Tuesday November 24th 2020 at the beginning of class.

Instructions:

For this assignment prepare a case study, analyzing the manifestation of intolerance in a society,
either in a form of violence or repression. This case of intolerance can be either a historical or
present-day event. The assignment should follow the structure bellow:

General Guidelines:

- Word limit: 400-500 words; typed

- Must include references (in-text citations) and a bibliography. (Provide your references in
a bibliography)

Step 1: Describe the origins/root causes of intolerance

Step 2: Describe the key events associated with the selected case/instance of intolerance

Step 3: Lessons Learned

- For a historical event were there any interventions that could have taken place before or
during the event by either the country involved or the international community to prevent
this event?
- For a current event are there any interventions that could have taken place before the
event or that could be done at the present moment by either the country involved or the
international community to prevent this event?
- What lessons can be learned from this event to prevent a similar event from happening
again in the future?
