DEATH is a great reminder to spend our lives wisely.

“You do not know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a mist. You can see it for a short time. But then it goes
away.” James 4:14 (NCV)

Lapida, masasabi nating ito ang summary ng buhay natin dahil dito makikita ang name, date of birth, and death natin.
Pero alam mo ba kung ano ang pinaka-importante na makikita natin sa lapida? Ito ay ang dash (-).

The dash represents all the time that we will be spending on earth.

We all have one dash to live -

one life to live.

But what makes it different is how we live it.

𝟑 𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐒𝐇:

First, A SURVIVING Dash - "Isang kahig, isang tuka" This is a dash spent just to survive. They work to SURVIVE. They wake
up to SURVIVE.

They live just to survive.

Second, A SUCCESSFUL Dash - The purpose of this dash can be summarized in one word, "Success." For the people who
live this kind of life, success is their main pursuit. They work to succeed. They wake up to succeed. They live to succeed.

THE world is too focused in living these kinds of dashes. For the longest time, we have been blinded that the world is
solely divided into two classes - THE surviving and the successful. However, life is never just about surviving or
succeeding.

The third and most important dash is the Significant Dash - This is a dash well-lived! Did you know that God created us
with a purpose? The Significant dash is a life filled with purpose, a life that mattered.

In the Bible, a woman named Dorcas lived significantly. The widows she took cared of considered here life 𝘵𝘰𝘰
𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵 to lose. (Acts 9:36-42)

WHAT MADE DORCAS' LIFE SIGNIFICANT?

• Loved God - Dorcas didn't just become a Christian, she was a DISCIPLE of the Lord. She was only woman in the Bible
that was called a disciple (“mathetria”). She loved the Lord and was compelled to serve God with her money and her all.

• Loved People - She was always doing good and helping the poor (Acts 9:36b). She was not just a talker but a doer. She
loved the widows (poorest of the poor) genuinely with the Love of Christ.

• Lived Significantly - She lived her life too significant that every PERSON in her community had considered her too
significant to lose. They cried when Dorcas died and were willing to do everything to bring her back. She lived a life of
legacy. She left a great heritage to people.

Just like Dorcas, a disciple of our Lord Jesus, let us decide to start living a significant life. Whether you are now living a
SURVIVING or SUCCESSFUL dash, know this: If your life brings glory to God, shows God’s goodness, AND shows God’s
greatness - IT IS A SIGNIFICANT ONE!

Decide to live a dash worth remembering - a life worth sharing!
