Content Standard:

 demonstrates understanding of bar graphs and outcomes of an event using the

terms sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to happen.

Performance Standard:

 is able to create and interpret simple representations of data (tables and single
bar graphs) and describe outcomes of familiar events using the terms sure,
likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to happen.

Learning Competency:

 tells whether an event is sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely, and impossible to
happen.

I. Learning Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:

a. describe probability
b. differentiate equal, likely, unlikely, certain, impossible probability.
c. classify the events whether it is impossible, unlikely, equally, most
likely or certain to happen; and
d. internalize the importance of events or situation.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Making a Guess on Whether an Event is less Likely, More Likely, Equally
or Unlikely to Happen Based on Facts.

Materials: Marbles, Pingpong balls, Box, Card Board, Laptop, Worksheet, Marker
Pen, Chalk, Pictures.
III. Preliminary Activities
A. Prayer and Greetings
B. Remind the Classroom Rules
C. Checking of Attendance
D. Collecting of Assignment
E. Drills (3 minutes)
The students will play the game entitled “WHO I AM” then
the teacher will ask some questions and whoever answered
has a reward point.
 What are the odd numbers less than 30?
F. Review (3 minutes)
The teacher will review the previous topic and let the
students answer and make a bar graph using the data
below.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Activity
The class will be divided into 5 groups. Each group will play a game
entitled “Pick Me Please?”. Each group will be given a box with different
colored marbles inside. They are going to pick one marble unknowingly
into the box. The group that has many blue colored marbles will be the
winner. The winner will receive prize and also the opposite group.

B. Analysis

After the activity, the pupils will answer the question given by the teacher.

Guide Questions:
 How did you find the activity?
 How many blue marbles did you get?
 How many unnecessary colored marbles did you get?
 Why is it you got only few blue marbles after picking into the
box?

C. Proper Discussion:

Introduce the topic and present some examples and present also the
number line to show the different chances of an even to happen.

Guide Questions:
 What is probability?
 What do you think does zero represents?
 How about number 1?
 How about in number 1/2?
 What is the answer if the greater than is zero but less than
½?
 What is the answer if the greater than is ½ but less than 1?
D. Deepening
“Socratic Method”
The teacher will ask the students to make predictions, formulate,
hypothesis and generalization deduced from the experiences they
had on the activity.
Guide Questions:
 Based on what you observe in the box, how can you
understand the likelihood of event?
 What are the following chances of an event to happen?
 How will you differentiate the Impossible to happen, Unlikely
to happen, Equally likely to happen, Most Likely to happen
and Certain to happen?

E. Application

The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will classify pictures of
events whether it is equally likely to happen, most likely to happen and certain to
happen.
Guide Questions:
 What event/s is/are certain to happen to today?
 What do you usually do during recess time?
 Are you doing well you assignment?
 What time do you usually sleep at night?
 Why you need to have enough time for sleep?

F.Abstraction

The teacher will generalize the lesson and let the students answer the questions that
will ask by the teacher.

Guide Questions:
 It is defined that a simply the likelihood of an event
happening.
(Probability)
 What can be the expressed in the following events?
(Impossible Probability, Unlikely Probability, Equally
Probability, Most Likely Probability and Certain Probability)

V. Evaluation
Instruction: Arrange the number line it shows the different chances of an event
to happen in inside in the box. (15points)
VI. Assignment
List your daily routine start when you wake up until you sleep and apply the
simply likelihood of event to happy. (30 points)
