How to create an AWS account step by step

This is my first blog post in cloudaffaire.com and I welcome you to this platform of knowledge
sharing.

The entire IT industry is currently going through a transition and moving towards the future that
is cloud. And it’s time to update your existing skill set and get accustomed with at least one
cloud technology for your own future.

AWS or Amazon Web Services is the leading cloud service provider in the market with 35%
market share. Hence we are starting the series with AWS. Later we will also start blogging about
Azure and Google.

Before you start using AWS you need to create one account with AWS and today we will learn
about how to create an AWS account step by step. AWS offers free account with limitations for
one year. In order to create the account you need one valid mail account, phone number and
credit card.

Note: Rupees 2 will be deducted from your credit card for verification which is refundable

How to create an AWS account step by step

Step 1: Open below link in a web browser

https://portal.aws.amazon.com/billing/signup#/start
Step 2: Fill in all the required details and click continue

Step 3: Provide your contact information and click Create Account and Continue
Step 4: Provide payment information and click Secure Submit and complete the payment
Step 5: Provide your phone number and click Call Me Now
Step 6: Once you click on Call Me Now, your browser will display a 4 digit number. You
will receive a call, please type this 4 digit number in your phone keypad once asked. Once
your phone number is verified click on Continue
Step 7: Next select your support plan. We are going to use free as of now, click on Free
Step 8: If everything is right your AWS account will be created and you will be redirected
to registration confirmation page. Click Sign In to the console to check if your account is
activated
Step 9: Provide your email address that you have used while creating the account and click
Next

Step 10: Provide your password set during account creation and click Sigh In
If your account is activated, you will be redirected to your AWS console page

Note: Sometimes you may not be able to login to your AWS console just after the account
creation, please wait for 24 hours and then try to login again. If you are still not able to login to
your console then you have to raise one support request to AWS. Same goes while during
payment, if you already made the payment but still not able to login to your console then raise
one support request.
