Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Participants

PGP-II/IPM-IV, Term-IV/XIII in the Academic Year 2020-21 will commence through the
online platform. Conducting courses through the online platform could require some
prerequisites and preparations. Zoom video conferencing platform with real-time messaging
and content sharing will be used for conduct online sessions. PGP classes will be conducted
in the PGP classrooms and Zoom link will be shared to the participants. If there is any
change in the classroom (Zoom link) it will be informed to the participants in advance.

PGP Participants may be instructed to maintain the following professional decorum:

1. To join the session 5 mins before the scheduled start time of the session.
2. To ensure continuous power supply and internet connectivity for uninterrupted
session attendance.
3. To keep the microphone on the mute mode unless required for the class
discussion.
4. To follow faculty member instructions to raise questions. To ask questions,
participants can either use a raise hand icon, chat message, and any other way
course instructor wants the questions to be asked.
5. The participant must keep the video on, unless suggested otherwise by the
Instructor. The participant has to switch on the video for talking/answering the
questions with the faculty or as per the instructions.
6. Please place the camera at your eye level for a better viewing experience for others.
7. Please ask one question one by one and do not intervene if another participant is
interacting with the faculty member.
8. Wear proper attire and maintain professional decorum. Please make yourself
presentable before the start of the session.
9. Please ensure that there is no noise or disturbance from your study location. In case
of such occurrences that are beyond your control, immediately mute your
microphone and resolve the source of noise promptly. This will help you with minimal
distraction from the running session.
10. Please join the session with your roll number and name logged in with the Institute
mail ID. For example, participant Ram with roll Number 2019PGP001 should login
as 2019PGP001Ram. Please do not use nicknames or mobile/laptop device names.
11. A quiet and well-lit area of the house needs to be assigned for attending the online
class.
12. Participants must sit on a study table, not on beds/sofas for the classes.
13. Please ensure that the background behind you is decent and professional.
14. Please avoid any movement in the background while the session continues as it
may cause distraction.
15. As per the PGP Manual using mobile phone during the class is prohibited.
Participants are not allowed to take phone calls while attending the session.
16. Please be informed that if a faculty member wishes to chat with you using your video
platform, you should respond immediately.
17. If you are expecting some interruption due to any unavoidable situation at your end,
you should inform faculty members in advance. You may seek the assistance of AAs
for this.
18. Sessions will be held through Zoom and the Zoom Links will be shared with you.
Change of any schedule/link will be communicated to you from time to time.
19. PGP attendance rules will apply for all courses unless otherwise notified by the
Chair, PGP.
20. Do not share the session links with anyone. Do not attend sessions which are not
meant for you.
21. Do not record classes without the explicit permission from Chair, PGP / Course
instructors.
22. If the students miss a session due to connectivity issue they may reach out to faculty.
The students may also reach to peers to understand a specific part of the session
missed.
23. Participants should not be eating or munching during class. Keep a glass of water /
bottle next to their laptop.
24. A note book and pen should be kept handy for taking down notes, as and when
required.
25. Participants should ensure that their laptop is fully charged before they begin the
session.
26. Participants should not click the screen / share your screen unless explicitly told to
do so.
27. Participants are advised to read the reading/case and/or complete the assignment
before attending the session.
28. Participants to submit the assignment within deadline online.
29. Reading material, Cases and E-books that will be shared are purely for private
circulation, and used for educational and research purposes only. You should not
circulate / share the same with anyone else.
