Oil level -- 6 - 8 quarts Flaps -- Set to 50%
Tire pressure -- Nose 40; main 62 psi Fuel selector -- Fullest tank
Wheel fairings -- Tight and clean Boost pump -- On
Windshield -- Cleaned Throttle -- Increase to detent (2000 RPM)
Control Surfaces -- Check Bring throttle back -- 1700 RPM
Prop & spinner -- Check Load elec. system (w/ pitot & all lights)
Chocks & ropes -- Remove -- Check Amps/Volts – both alternators
Pitot cover & cowl plugs -- Off Mags -- 150 rpm max drop; 75 rpm diff.
Baggage door -- Closed & locked Throttle -- Return to 1000 rpm
Pitot heat -- Check Transponder -- Set correct code
Nav, Strobe, landing lights -- Check GPS -- Activate flight plan or direct to
Autopilot -- Set pre-select as required
2. Pre-start
Pitot heat, lights -- As needed
Circuit Breakers -- In
Tower -- Clearance for runway
CAPS pin -- Remove
Note -- Time
Doors locked/Seats -- Secure
Seat belts, harnesses -- On 6. Climb out and level
Passenger Briefing -- Complete Compass – Verify runway heading
Bat #2 master -- Check 23-25V Rotate -- 70 Knots
Flap position light -- Off Flaps up -- 80 Knots
All Bat-Alt Master switches -- On Boost pump -- Off
Strobe light -- On Cruise alt -- Lean mixture
Brakes -- Test and set Fuel -- Switch every 30 min; Boost on
3. Start 7. Descent & landing
Mixture -- Rich ATIS -- Check
Throttle -- Full forward Mixture -- Rich
Prime -- 5 -10 seconds, then Boost Auto pilot -- Off
Throttle -- Back to ¼ inch open Landing lights -- On
Propeller area -- Clear Flaps & speed -- - 50% < 119 knots
Ignition switch -- Start (1000 RPM) -100% < 104 knots
Oil pressure -- Check
8. After landing
