A mark of 80% or higher on this quiz is required for progression in 12U Physics. If you
are unable to achieve a mark of 80%, you are strongly recommended to consider a

Strand A: Science Investigation Skills

The most important topics to review from 11U Physics from this strand are precision in measurements and
significant digits. Please complete the review package included in preparation for your 12U diagnostic quiz.

How to communicate the precision of a measurement by keeping the correct number of decimal places:

Keep all the digits you are sure of plus the first digit where you begin to estimate.

Example 1:

The length of the shape above is 1.92 cm. Why did I keep 2 decimal places? I knew for sure the length was
somewhere between 1.9 and 2.0 cm, so the first place I had to estimate was between 1.9 and 2.0 cm. So the
measurement expressed with the correct level of precision is 1.92 cm. Please note that this measurement has

Strand B: Kinematics

The most important topics to review from 11U Physics from this strand are the five formulae for uniform
acceleration, projectile motion, and vector addition using components or the sine and cosine laws. Please
