Op-Ed/Major issues paper Reflection

This is a great example of my progress throughout the semester. Comparing this to

writing assignment #1 makes you think there might even be a completely different writer. My

main struggle with the op-ed assignment is the cutting down of the word count. I felt like I had

written a great paper and then I had to go back in and rework some things and take out parts that

I thought were helpful to the thesis of my paper. I ended up having to re write entire paragraphs

because of the deletion of so many transitions and political points that were informative to the

point. I understand that it was needed to make the op-ed less messy and more readable/enjoyable

for the reader. It forced me to consolidate my information and make it more digestible for people

to read. I finally arrived at my professional narrative while talking about my major and the major

issue I chose. It sounds very well put together and considering there was no rubric to go off what

we were supposed to be writing, I would say the informative and organizational aspects of the

major issues paper were done very well.
