Position Description

Position: Controller
Position Location: Folsom, CA

Reports to: President & CEO


Status: Exempt Employee

Company Overview:

Founded in 1998, ConferenceDirect, LLC is one of the leading full service meeting
planning companies in North America with over 400+ independent contractors / Sales
Associates. The company is headquartered in West Hollywood, CA & Folsom, CA and
provides accounts payable, accounts receivable and 1099 reporting of contractors
services which they provide to meeting planners. These services provided include but not
limited to housing management, registration, conference management and virtual
meetings. The contractors book over 15,000 events annually pre-COVID.

Responsibilities:

Oversight of company’s finance department with four (4) direct reports with team of ten
(14) which also includes Human Resources & IT. Position requires in-dept working
knowledge of Great Plains Software and functionality of system. This position will be
responsible for establishing financial policies and controls including bookkeeping,
reporting and auditing functionalities based on large volume of transactions. The
position will have responsibility and oversight of Annual budget which includes monthly,
quarterly and annual reports of all operating departments. Position requires will have
oversight of banking vendors including outside CPA firm, accounts payable and
receivable, company insurance providers, lease agreements, reporting and be required to
implement expense control procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen
understanding of working in high volume accounts receivable environment.

Required Qualifications:

Certified Public Account with ten (7-10) years equivalent work experience. Must have
excellent time management skills to handle multi-tasks, meet deadlines, strong
communication (verbal and written), and manage and lead team. The position would
require understanding of Great Plains software and the ability to implement a new ERP
system within the next 12-24 months.
To emphasize, the successful candidate should possess the following organizational
skills:

 Ability to deal with multiple demands sometimes requiring extensive work hours.
 Ability to manage and direct his or her direct reports with established goal
holding team accountable for performance.
 Excellent communication skills with internal customers and vendors
 Ability to analyze financial data and provide cost saving recommendations.
 Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision for successful assignment
completion
 Excellent time management and organization skills to meet financial reporting
requirements.
 The ability to achieve deadlines and manage projects.
