STREAM 1: TRANSFORMING
YOUNG LIVES
Kia Mōhiotia is a programme of inten-
sive mentoring over a year for 20
young people (11-16 years old) at
risk of offending. This mentoring will
be done in 10 one-week long
wānanga (one per month) that focus
on building a sense of identity and
socialisation.
These wānanga will include an Adven-
ture Based Learning component and
independent living skills.
Over the year, the participants will
explore their whakapapa and geneol-
ogy, and the wānanga will be held on
marae around the country to which
these rangatahi can connect.
PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
Youth will be supported by youth
workers & social workers . A child cen-

als will be engaged to meet specific
individual needs
