Learning Objective The student will apply social science skills to understand the
American constitutional government at the local level by
a) describing the structure and powers of the local
government.
b) explaining the relationship of local government to the
state government; and
c) explaining and/or simulating the lawmaking process.
Pedagogy

Online Activity
Teachers and students will meet at the scheduled time to talk
about this subject matter. For this class, the teacher will be
using ZOOM or Google Meeting. The Simulation being used to
help students understand the different brancher of
government as the teacher introduces the simulation, students
will look to see how he branches of government was formed.
Any questions students may have will be answered by both
students and their peers.
The Simulation that they will being assigned is the Branches of
Powers game. Within the simulation the students will click on
the pictures to help them with the game.
The Students will pick leaders for each branch of government.
They will create a presidential agenda and learn about the
executive branch powers. They will create bills and pass laws
out of Congress. They will apply judicial review to pass laws.
