1. Problem
I love traveling and I recently got into overlanding. A recreational activity that has
been growing immensely. A basic add on to any vehicle is a side awning. While
readily available with basic options and quality can cost around 200 dollars for a
decent product. While these prices could be in some users' price range there are
many other places where that money could be used.

2. Abstract
Overlanding is a lifestyle in which many enthusiasts spend many hours and many
dollars on. There is a huge market for outdoor products when looking at the wide
array of applications. Products such as roof top tents and the awning I will be
making are some of many that are offered to the public. These products are made
by many manufactures that are tried and trusted. While some of us just want to get
out and enjoy the outdoors without breaking the bank.

3. Solution
I will be constructing my own universal vehicle awning. Using materials and parts
from your basic shops and stores around town. Material and hardware will be
sourced locally at places i have already been to. When designing my own products I
get to add my own custom touch that makes it unique as well. The parts and design
process will be shared so others can follow guidelines for their own as well.

4. Budget
I'm giving myself a one hundred and fifty dollar limit. While there are other
products on the market around the same price I am giving myself a cushion in order
to make it as reasonable as possible. While the goal is still a sturdy and strong
awning I still have to make it affordable for the user.
