1. Give an example of descriptive statistics in the Philippine Health Sector. Give an example

of how inferential statistics could be used in the Philippine Health Sector. Compare the

two examples. What makes them different?

descriptive statistics can be used in counting confirmed COVID-19 cases of every city that is being
monitored to gather the information like the average, mean, and the mode of this cities. Inferential
statistics can be used on computing the sample data of the doubling time of COVID Patients on a part of
the country (Sample) and use it as a general data of doubling of the whole country (Population). What
makes them different is that the Descriptive Statistics uses the sample data while the Inferential
Statistics use the sample data to characterize the whole population.

3. The Electrostatic Manufacturing Corporation makes electric wiring, which it sells to

contractors in the construction industry. Approximately 900 electric contractors purchase

wire from Electrotactic annually. electrostatics director of marketing wants to determine

electric contractors’ satisfaction with Electrostatics wire. He developed a questionnaire

that yields a satisfaction score between 10 and 50 for participant responses. A random

sample of 35 of the 900 contractors is asked to complete a satisfaction survey. The

satisfaction scores for the 35 participants are averaged to produce a mean satisfaction

score.
