Novena Prayer For Our Beloved
Novena Prayer For Our Beloved
Novena Prayer For Our Beloved
Introduction:
Leader: Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, relatives and friends of _________.
We have come together here to pray in the spirit of faith for our dear
_______ who has been taken away from us. We are together in our
sadness: when we share our sorrows, they become lighter. But we are
even more united in faith and hope and love. At the same time we pray
for strength and consolation for this grieving family.
Reading: A reading from the letter of Paul to the Romans (Rom 6:3-4 8-11)
My brothers and sisters: You have been taught that when we were
baptized into union with Christ Jesus, we joined through baptism in his
death; in other words, when we were baptized we were buried with
him and shared his death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead
by glorious power of the Father we too might live a new life. But if we
have died with Christ we believe that we will also live with him; for we
know that Christ have been raised from the dead and that he will
never die again. Death has no more power over him. His death was
death to sin once and for all; and the life he lives is life for God. In the
same way, you must consider yourselves dead to sin but alive for God,
union with Christ Jesus.
Other readings: Luke 12: 16-21 1 Cor 2:2-10 Phil 3:20-21 1 John 3: 1-2
John 11:21-27 John 3:51-54 1 Thess 4; 13-14, 17b-18
2Maccabees 12:43-46
God, we are ready to become better Christians and we ask you therefore
to forgive us that we have been lukewarm in loving you and quiet deficient in
loving people around us Lord have mercy.
Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting. Amen.

SONGS:
Now not all of us shall asleep, but all of us are to be changed. In the twinkling
of an eye as the last trumpet sounds, we shall rise victorious in Christ.
The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.
And he who eats of this bread, he shall live forever, he shall live forever.
Refrain…
SINO AKO
6
AS THE DEER
As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee. You alone are
my heart’s desire and I long to worship thee. You along are my strength, my
shield, to you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire and I
long to worship thee.
1. Servants of the Lord, ours the upward call. To lay down our lives and to
give our all.
2. For to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Both in death and life, ours a
single aim.
7
3. Riches, honor, fame gladly we despise. That we may attain, the pearl of
great price.
4. Nothing in this world, shall possess our hearts. You alone O Lord, are the
better part.
WE BELONG TO GOD
For we are sure that neither death nor life, nor this nor future ages, nor
their powers. No height, no depth, no creature that thrives, will come
between us and the love of Christ.
DIYOS AY PAG-IBIG
(Refrain 2x)
