Objective: The objective is for students to apply
properties of operations to add and subtract rational
numbers. Students will use integer chips to develop
an understanding of adding and subtracting positive
and negative whole numbers by making zero pairs.
After many examples students can reach the
conclusion that there is a pattern to adding and
subtracting integers through integer chips.
