Design Thinking
Ques: What happened during the course?
Ans: The course had a process with thinking of inputs and designing an output. The thinking is
an art and this is what happened in the course. The course provided the basic insight into the
method of thinking problems. Problems that concerns people in their life. Day to day or
periodically they face the challenges. The challenges can be crushed with the creativity.
Creativity comes with design and that is why design thinking was applied. In this course the
whole class was divided into the procedure. At first, we were divided in our study groups asked
to identify the problems. We identified many problems after discussing the issues of toothpaste
and toothbrush that suddenly evolved in 90’s children. The problem we identified first was the
pessimism but after that we stick to the mass problem that was the Pooja/worship issues with the
people in integrated city. Pessimism had some serious issues but not a genuinity we were finding
for. The issue was more a personal and less a public. After we moved on thinking the issues of
Pooja, we were sent to interview the people and the stake holders. The stake holders were our
feedback to initiate the process. We came up with the solution and after that we succeeded in
making an idea of app. We prepared our route map.
Ques: What were you feeling and thinking about the course?
Ans: I was not feeling something. I was enthusiastic to go for it as it was commencing in the
auditorium. It was different and a good break from the class. I personally enjoyed the initiation
of the course. We were given to find the problem. The feeling is always a content with the
subconscious mind. The mind guides individual and individual drives the feel. The feel and the
content were provided by ma’am and we discussed the issue like a critical thinker. The thoughts
bombarded the process of thinking and we followed up. It was fun to discuss people and meeting
various stakeholders for the solution. The video was made, the interaction was done and helped
to go through the peculiarities of the issue and the concern we were following up. With twist and
turns we reached to the destiny with the solution. The journey was good. The stakeholders were
enthusiastic to give the feedback. The journalist from the Noida said that he faced too much
issues after his parents are here and wants to do Pooja. That is why the setup is done on the note
of solving the issue. After we came up the idea of application likewise came up the idea of
application it was easy for us to connect with the people through app. The rate of changing
momentum and shift from industrial to technical world have brought the idea of app to us
Ques: What was good and bad about the experience with the course?
Ans: The course is too good. Through this course, you will learn a pragmatic approach that is
both a system for inducing creativity and innovation and a framework for solving complex
business problems. Design Thinking is defined in different ways by various academics, industry
leaders but somehow all believe in keeping the customer at the core while designing a new
product/ service or improving an existing product/service. I would like to talk through some of the
most popular and widely accepted thoughts surrounding design thinking, its various phases and its
application to problem-solving. Design Thinking utilizes empathy and careful observation to
engage with challenges that have, in the past, escaped even a clear definition. This leads to new
possibilities which are then prototyped and tested leading to creative solutions. The Design
Thinking approach has been found particularly useful for companies looking to solve ‘wicked
problems’ that are difficult to define and on which past data does not help. The bad experience
was that it comes with very short interval of time. It doesn’t have that much sessions and that is
why it becomes very hectic for students to cop up with other subjects. This subject is all about
creativity and ones it started we need to put all our efforts with the creative mindset which we lag
once it is for shorter period of time and secondly continuous presentations.
Ques: What learnings could you draw out the course?
Ans: Learnings we draw from the course are at various perspective. They can be categorized as
follows:
 The first thing first that in order to sustain in the competitive environment and challenges
of the competitors in the capitalist and the world of corporates we need to be innovative.
We can prove ourselves innovative once we put yourself into the shoes of people who
face the issues. The world is not enough to find all the solutions but the power of mind
can explore different aspects of problem solving through design thinking.
 It also helps it creating new ideas and substitutes. As for example is the green energy.
The need of the hour is to cut the carbon emissions and the cut usage of plastic. So, the
design thinking is very helpful to go with sustainability and everything else.
 Thirdly, we have to face the issues in our day to day life. With understanding the broader
aspects, we can easily make our self to set the way of understanding of people. People
has always different way of thinking and though process. To compete with that we need
to configure our self by thinking logically.

Ques: What else could you have done differently in this course?
Ans: We have many options to explore this field. In this field we can search our limit and sky is
the limit. The design thinking is not theory to be restricted with books and the literature in any
field but it gives you a mindset evolve and rethink the process again and again with the check
and balances. We can explore it into the fields that are concerned with various aspects of life.
The following points can be configured in order to understand the usefulness of everything.
(1) Train my brain to shift from the traditional approach not only during sessions but post
sessions as well. Probably see all the problem from a different prospective, it is not an
instant but continuous process.
(2) Take up Design thinking certificate course where I could have got more exposure about
the course and then think to problem with more solution ideas for the problem.
(3) Observation Exercises where I could enhance my observation skills and see how people
come out for solutions and is that really a solution?
(4) Empathy Exercises where I get in the shoes of the person seeking solution, it Is only then
when I get a solution which is sleeked by the stakeholder.
(5) Brainstorming & ideation at a faster and regular pace
(6) Prototyping: Build fast make mistakes learn something repeat, not getting demotivated
with the failure Is the ideology I could have taken while designing the app for my
problem as it was not easy and took us around 6-8 attempts for edit .

Ques: How do you plan to do the DT skill in your personal and professional life?
Ans: Design thinking should be at the core of strategy development and organizational change in
order to create a culture that’s focused on this way of solving problems. This way of thinking can
be applied to products, services, and processes; anything that needs to be improved. On their
own, different functional groups tend to generate ideas that serve their group’s needs more than
the customer’s. Their decisions are founded on good intentions, but can sometimes fail horribly
for the customer when made in functional isolation. Fragmented functions equal fragmented
decisions and the customer feels the pain of these long before anyone internally does. This is so
easily fixed, but it continues to persist at countless organizations. Gaining different perspectives
is obviously important and this is where cross functional blending of teams adds real value and
identifying those who accomplish it without hand holding is essential. It’s one way to help
elevate the empathy factor—a key in isolating and defining the problem. Customer-centric is the
main word here. When you get them in a room, you may be shocked at how unaware certain
functional groups are of the goings-on outside of their own function.
