After calculating my daily calories I have come to a conclusion. I have always heard
people say that I am skinny, and of course I always disagreed. However now I see that
the calories I take for a day are not enough. I am considered a little underweight. This is
maybe due to the amount of energy I spend daily. Plus I don't like eating and don’t
usually eat as much as I need to. Therefore, I need to set some goals that will better my
eating habits. One thing that I usually do is waking up late. That way I skip breakfast.
Well of course when I wake up I eat something before eating lunch. But I don’t eat as
much as I would eat for a regular breakfast if I woke up earlier. Therefore I need to
change my sleeping habits. I need to start waking up at maybe 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM,
and that way I will be able to eat a regular breakfast. After 2 hours I will surely be
hungry and eat a meal at 12:00 PM. Another habit that I want to have is start eating
vegetables. I love vegetables, but I usually don’t give importance to eating them.
However I do realize now that vegetables are out of my daily calorie intake chart.
Vegetables do give a lot of vitamins. Therefore I am planning to eat more vegetables
and I am pretty sure I will enjoy them. Fruits are out of my chart as well, and they do
have a lot of vitamins as well, therefore I should start eating more fruits. Furthermore,
there is one more very important factor that I realized after doing the chart. I don’t drink
enough water. Our body uses water in all its cells, organs and tissues to help regulate
temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Water is a very important part of our
lives. Our body does lose water through sweating , breathing and digesting therefore we
always need to provide the right amount of water to our bodies. To conclude, this
assignment has helped me very much. First of all, this was my first time calculating my
daily calorie intake, therefore it gave me the opportunity to see what I eat and what I
don’t. After doing the chart, I came to the conclusion that my daily calorie intakes are
not enough. I used to think that I am skinny due to the amount of energy that I spend,
while now I realize that it is due to the not enough calorie intake. This assignment has
helped me to set some goals and change some eating habits. However the most
important thing that I realized I am missing was the water. From now on I will pay more
attention to what I eat , to the amount of water I drink and I will try to add fruits and
vegetables in my day to day life.
