Experience with Children


Sep 2018- June 2019 Volunteer, Fernley Elementary School, approx. 75 hours spent in
this position. I mainly worked with first graders during centers that needed
extra help in small groups. I would do various activities and tasks that the
teacher would ask me to do with that group.

Aug 2016- June 2018 Paraprofessional, Fessenden Elementary School, 2 School years
spent in this position, the first year I was in charge of k-5 teaching
different reading intervention groups. Students would come to my class
and each grade level was taught something different. I mainly worked with
the students that scored higher in their reading assessments. I worked
closely with the Reading coach that give the students the instruction to
help them succeed. The first half of the second school year I was a
kindergarten paraprofessional and worked closely with the teacher to help
meet all the needs of students. I had my own centers to work with students
and helped them achieve success. The second half of the school year, I
worked in a resource room with children that ranged from k-5 that had
varied disabilities. Each student was unique and had different needs that I
had to help with and accomplish their goals.

Additional work experience


Aug 2016- June 2018 Paraprofessional, Marion County Public Schools, 35 hours per
week, my responsibilities were to work to assist a teacher throughout their
daily classroom activities and implement programs in accordance with the
curriculum as well as general classroom and clerical duties such as
maintaining a clean and safe environment for all the students. I would
communicate with the students and help them understand lessons. I would
help monitor children with particular attention to those with special needs.

Aug 2005- Jan 2008 Cashier, Claire’s, 30 hours per week, my responsibilities were to
have the best customer service and help customers find what they needed,
unload inventory and stock the shelves, help customers at checkout,
answer the phone, count money, deposit money to the bank, and lock up
the shop. I was promoted to assistant manager by the second year.

Interests
My main interest is spending time with my children and my husband. I
have 10-year-old triplet boys, a 9-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl. My
other interests include helping students with education, listening to music,
cooking, baking, and traveling.
