● Supporting Point 1: Yearly, the US consumes or uses about 1.5 million metric tons of
palm oil a year. (Visualized number).

● Supporting Point 2: The countries that use the most palm oil are India (9.2 million tons),
Indonesia (7.3 million tons), the EU (7.2 million tons), and China (5.8 million tons) (Pie
chart).

● Supporting Point 3: Global palm oil production from 1964 to 2014 (Line graph).

● Supporting Point 4: Amount of palm oil harvested in Indonesia from 1970 to 2014 (Bar
graph).

● Supporting Point 5: The food industry is responsible for 72% of the total usage of palm
oil (Isotype).

Conclusion: Palm oil is used all over the world, and is known to be an unsustainable and
harmful practice.
