PRINTS END OF THE

FASHION CYCLE
We began to see the star print reemerging in the mid 2010s as
celebrities and influencers got on board with this bold print. In the
mid 2010s, you can see the star print being featured across the
fashion industry from designer runways to fast fashion brands
closer to the end of the decade. This trend trickled across the
industry in the recent decade. However, we could see this trend
dating back into the 20th century during the Edwardian period
with celestial prints on gowns, then it appeared again in the 80s
with some star print accessories (as seen on Madonna on the next
page). It resurfaced in the 2000s with the same bold printed trend
on casual clothing for a moment and extended into the late 2010s.
Because of the reintroduction of more animal prints and
minimalistic styles in 2020, we believe this trend will soon start to
fade and become a part of the obsolescence phase of the trend
cycle.
