“Countdown to 500” is a special program created by the National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) and the Office of

the President of the Philippines in anticipation of the 500 years of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the
Philippines (2021 QCP).

This is a series of online lectures developed through the collaboration of the Presidential Communications Operations
Office (PCOO) and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), aiming to sustain the Filipinos’
interest to the 2021 QCP.

The 2nd Countdown to 500 online lecture is entitled “Rizal and Reclaiming the World of Our Ancestors” with Dr.
Kerby Alvarez as the resource speaker. This is being conducted in commemoration of the 159th birth anniversary of
Jose Rizal, in collaboration with the Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago, Museo ni Jose Rizal Calamba and Museo ni
Jose Rizal Dapitan.
