Study skills, 11-12-2020, Chapter 11: Responding effectively

in exams.

This chapter contains some techniques and strategies that can help you
to pass your exams effectively.

1) The day and night before the exam:

First thing that you need to do, is to throw away the niggling
doubts (negative thoughts) from your mind. And say “I can do it; I
will do well in the exam”. After that, revise or take a look on the
lessons, calmly. Besides, try to get enough sleep, so go to bed early
and set up one or two alarms (next to a bucket of water so as to wash
your face when you wake up).

2) Getting to sleep the night before exams:

One of the best techniques to sleep quickly, is to start counting

backwards from 100 to 0 with a deep breathing.

3) The morning of the exam:

In the morning of the exam try to:

Take a fast look on lessons.

Think positively.
Check that you have all requisite equipment (Students
ID, pens, ruler).
Eat your breakfast.

4) Arriving at the venue:

Confirm the date, time and venue (place) of your exams.

Avoid the doom and gloom squad.
Locate yourself in quiet corner and run through your major
headings again.
Choose the best place for sitting.

Read the instructions or questions at least two times carefully.
