INAUGURATION OF THE

NEWLY RESTORED BRONZE DOORS

OF THE MANILA CATHEDRAL

EXPLANATION OF THE BRONZE DOORS AND ITS DESIGNS

(c/o Fr. Kali)

RITE OF BLESSING

Introduction

Fr. Regie:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

All: Amen.

Fr. Regie:
The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.

Psalm

Antiphon: Open wide the doors as we enter into the house of the Lord.

The Lord's is the earth and its fullness,

the world and all its peoples.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the waters he made it firm. Antiphon.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?

Who shall stand in his holy place?
The man with clean hands and pure heart,
who desires not worthless things,
who has not sworn so as to deceive his neighbor. Antiphon.
He shall receive blessings from the Lord
and reward from the God who saves him.
Such are the men who seek him,
seek the face of the God of Jacob. Antiphon.

O gates, lift high your heads;

grow higher, ancient doors.
Let him enter, the king of glory! Antiphon.

Who is the king of glory?

The Lord, the mighty, the valiant,
the Lord, the valiant in war. Antiphon.

O gates, lift high your heads;

grow higher, ancient doors.
Let him enter, the king of glory! Antiphon.

Who is he, the king of glory?

He, the Lord of armies,
he is the king of glory. Antiphon.

Prayer of Blessing

Fr. Regie:
Let us pray.

God of all ages,

you sent your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
as the door to your kingdom,
the gate to eternal life,
and the portal of eternal peace.

May this door be for us

a reminder of your heart
that is always open to welcome us.
Here may we enter Your presence as your humble children.
From here may we go forth as your faithful disciples
who bring your word and love to the world.

At the end of days,

may we be found worthy
to enter the gates of heaven
and rejoice for ever at the feast
of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

All: Amen.

Lord’s Prayer

Hail Mary
