B1.1: GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Bectochem range of Fluid Bed Dryers are ideal for production, pilot scale and R & D Lb
pharmaceutical processing applications; for drying, sizing, agglomerating and spray coating of
delicate substances in powder form, with quick dying times, gentle product handling,
combined with intensive mixing and proven batch to batch quality and reproducibility.
B1.2: TYPICAL PROCESS:
The batch of product loaded into the material bowl is sealed in the chamber and heated filtered
air is drawn through the product. Held in suspension the product is mixed vigorously and dries
to the required end moisture content. Escape of material from the granulation chamber is
prevented by exhaust filters, which are periodically agitated or purged to reintroduce the
collected material into the fluidized bed. The product can be cooled and the main container
exchanged for the next batch.
