Test2 Book2 Writing Part1-2
Criminal behaviour had increased in young aged people and it’s a problem our local
authorities have to solve in order to life quality improved in every city. Even though, is a
major issue I think is important to take some time in understanding what is behind these
young people committing crimes. Is the absence of opportunities in life the main reason or
it´s the peer pressure the biggest influence these teens have?
In the one hand, as far as I am concerned, poverty and lack of opportunities are the
reason why young people spend more time in the streets and here’s where the issue starts.
For instants, here in Spain, there’s a situation going on for a while which involved MENAS
(foreign unaccompanied minors). These kids come to Spain looking forward life
opportunities. In contrast to this idea, they end up in minors centres which are not prepared
to look after this amount of adolescents. As a result of this, these young people started to
commit crimes like stealing some local shop and scaring the neighbours. This situation, in
my opinion, will change if they were getting opportunities such as small jobs or founding
help to study a degree.
In the other hand, I also think this MENA situation involved the peer pressure they
are under. These young people who came into the country, immediately after they arrived,
are involved with teenagers who have overcome difficult situations. These teenagers often
tend to commit crimes and encourage others to join them.
To brief, even if I used the example of foreign kids, this is a common situation today
which is not depending on the country of birth. Still, I think we all can agree in one thing:
lack of opportunities is getting these adolescents believe committing crimes is a solution
and the influence of friends is aggravating this problem, transforming an individual issue
into a plural one.
