Day 4
Students will solve

Students will create first

drafts for class travel
blog.
Let’s begin!

Let’s take a closer look at elimination.
Take notes as we work together on the following slides so you have a
resource to refer to when you get stuck solving equations by yourself.

Correct your work as we go over solving the systems together.

Try this one on your own first.
If you’re stuck:

What part in both

equations are similar?

How can we “eliminate”

that part?
Let’s take a look at what happens when we
add the two equations together on Desmos.

What do you notice about the solution?

What do you notice about this system?
Let’s start this one together.
Now, you’re ready to solve the problem from the beginning of class
using elimination.

Recall our project question: How can we share
the places we love in DC with visitors?

How does what we’ve been learning fit in with our project?

Go to your groups
Open the link in your Breakout Room chat and scroll to your group.

Read the directions and create systems of equations with your group.

(Groups D, I finalized your destination since I didn’t hear back from

you guys)

Come back to main room in 15 minutes (or earlier if you finish early)

Suggestion for monitoring groups (Is this okay?):

Ms. Rosera: A-C Deema:

Deema: D-E
Ms. Ricky: F Record
Breakout
Rooms!
How did that go?
Questions?

If we’re all set, swap with the group described in your directions, and
solve the system they created for you!

Deema: Record Breakout Rooms!

Again, come back in 15 min. or earlier.

Our final product
If each group has someone who can access the site:

Otherwise, work on your first draft below your previous work in the
Google Doc. I will post what you have so far on the site after class.

Blog posts are written about equation you solved. Your blog post will
be about your partner group’s destination!
