Assignment 3

Melina Peñafiel, Raí Díaz, Natasha Mármol

Campaign against the pedophilia movement (MAP)

Why did we choose the topics?

“MAP” is a movement that pretends to be a part of the LGTB+ community, they

consider pedophilia to be a new sexual orientation, they even want the World Health
Organization to eliminate pedophilia as a sexual disorder. They claim that they are doing no
harm, they just want to love and be loved, they say that they have every right to fall in love
with little children without affecting them in any way.

Pedophilia is a problem all over the world, in 2014, 120 million children were confirmed to be
sexually abused. Furthermore, it is estimated that in this period of quarantine the numbers
have increased significantly. As members of society, as parents, siblings, and as persons we
are in the obligation of standing against this group of people who are trying to call sexual
abuse, love.

What is the chosen social media?

The chosen social media is Instagram because we want to have an impact and
reach more people through images that make people empathize. Also, Instagram is
one of the social networks that is most used by users with 1.000 million users, in
which we can make our campaign and information reach people faster.

#UnitedAgainstMAP
What rhetorical techniques are being used in the campaign?

We are going to use pathos to empathize with people, by this we mean using images
that appeal to the emotions of our viewers. We will also use statistics to support
everything we are saying so that people trust what we are exposing.
