I found the church couple of years ago. I grew up as a Buddhist in Sri Lanka.

I knew about Jesus Christ

but never followed it. I had friends who were Christians but I did not know a lot about that religion back
then.  When I moved to America only I started to read about different religions and start to investigate
about different religions. Finally I got baptized in this church and I am very happy about my decision.
Being a follower of Jesus Christ is a so much relief for my life. I used to believe that even if I make a silly
mistake I will never be able to ask for forgiveness. But now I know through the atonement of Jesus
Christ repentance is possible and it is a important thing to follow in order to go to in to the eternal life.

When I joined the church my family did not support my decision. But I wanted to join. My wife
understood my point and supported me but she told me that she do not want to convert to  be a
member. That time I wanted to be a good disciple of Jesus Christ and I want to have my patience like
Jesus. I wanted to show them following Jesus is not a bad thing for my life. So I wanted to put more time
and effort to understand the Jesus Christ's atonement. So I changed my school and came to BYUI to
learn more about Jesus Christ and it 's influence.

It is always exciting yo learn about how to be a disciple of a Jesus Christ through talks or through life
experiences. But sometimes it is not that easy to put those thoughts in to the action. Some of my friends
think that as they talk about Gospel and as they say that they believe in church that is enough. But in my
I think we should always practically try to be a disciple and should always help the people in need when
we see them.

Why in some scriptures the language is so strict?

What are some names of saviors before Jesus Christ?
