CHANGE REDUCE COOK HAVE
DO CONSUME INCREASE

Nutritionists recommend HAVING a healthy diet and lifestyle. They are the best
weapons in the fight against weight gain and chronic diseases. They make
emphasize on two major goals:
• Balance calories with physical activity to manage weight.
• Consume more of certain foods and nutrients.
Regular physical activity is important for good health and it is especially important if
you are trying to lose or maintain a healthy weight. It reduces high blood pressure
and risks of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Doctors advise REDUCING the
amount of certain products in people’s diet, like sodium, saturated and trans fats,
refined grains and added sugars. The recommended intake of salt is 5g a day.
Researchers recommend COOKING the amount of red meat to one to two
servings a week or less.
They also say people should avoid CONSUMING processed red meat (sausages,
ham salami). They contain sodium, nitrates, phosphates and additives that
contribute to the increase heart failure risk. They suggest INCREASING the
amount of healthy foods like berries, fruits, vegetables, fat-free and low-fat dairy
products, oil based spreads, nuts, seeds, seafood and whole grains. Nutritionists’
biggest concern is that some people would never consider CHANGING their eating
habits. They say people can practice DOING their food.
