Ms. Lee, a Grade 3 teacher, tells us why she why writes poetry.
Hello Ms. Lee. I’ve heard that you’re a poet.
I’m not a famous poet, but I love to write poetry.
Why do you write poetry?
Dylan Thomas, a famous poet from Wales, said that Poetry is what makes
you loves, cry, prickle, be silent, makes your nails twinkle. I write poems to make
people love, ¡and to make their nails twinkle!
Tell us about your poems.
Most of my poems are silly. I love to share funny stories from my elementary
school days. I can make a poem about those histories by choosing interesting
words. Finally, like a puzzle I love putting all my ideas together. Here’s a to I just
wrote about one of my elementary teachers.
Ms. Lembeck has a purple dresk.
She has a purple blouse.
She writes “Well done!” with a purple ink,
What colour is her house?
I can guess. I liked it! It 's funny.
