AAWC Lesson Reflection

Select (S):

Students can state the forwards number sequence from 0-30 in English.

Describe (D):

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?

In order to ensure that my students learn how to count forward 0-20 I tried to incorporate a range of
teaching strategies that can facilitate the information during online classes.

During the introduction I was testing their previous knowledge about numbers from 1-10 and they
were awesome in counting, after that we continue counting until 20.

During the active engagement I asked the students to count the flowers in the picture.

During my formative assessment student knows their strength from my explanation the outcome, I
noticed that from their engagement and their interaction to my teaching.

active engagement, the students will be learning of how they can do their tasks without help,
according to Vygotsky’s zone of proximal development theory, students learn best by providing
opportunities to discuss with their peers and learn from each other (2009).
What did the students do?

I asked the students to count the numbers and tell me the missing numbers of the caterpillar,
they were listing to each other and corporate on doing this task, there was some students who
were not participate in the class, but when they listen to their friends counting they get exciting
and that’s develop there learning.

Analyze (A):

Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?

In my opinion, the students who were able to count were successful and those students who
struggled they were learning from their friends.

How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding? AS we see online classes
has their difficulties on explaining and sending the information, but I was repeating counting
activity slides so they can memorize them as a random place number.

How well did you engage the students?

Engage the students in song and activity.

Appraise (A):

Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

Yes, they were awesome and flexible, and they were happy, exiting in doing the tasks.

Transform (T):

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?

I might record myself in explaining some parts of the lesson.

What are the implications for your professional practice?

First of all is checking my computer and microphone because I had a lot of issues during online
classes, so for the next time I will do my best to not struggle with it. The second thing is making
differentiation activities, it is totally different activities we can find for online classes, and I would
like to incorporate some art and other ways to be implemented in my lesson.
