Learning Objective Standard 2.2: The student will identify personal health
decisions and health habits that influence health and
wellness throughout life.
Pedagogy

Online Activity In this activity students can reach Planet Power by fueling
their rocket with healthy food choices and physical
activities. There are fuel tanks for each food group that
students will need to fill to blast off into space!

During our first health class zoom meeting the teachers will
conduct a quick introduction to making healthy eating
choices and what you should pick to fuel your body just
like you would fuel the rocket. The introduction will
include a PowerPoint the students will follow along with on
the interactive white board.

At the end of the PowerPoint will be a quick game the

teacher and students can play together. There will be two
options on the screen and the students will have to pick
the best choice to fuel their body.

Once the introduction is over the students will be

introduced to the simulation. The teacher will show them
what they will be doing and then they will get to try it on
their own with the class provided laptops or the BYOD.

The teachers will test the student’s knowledge with a quick

assessment on what would be best to fuel their body as
well as what choices they should make in the grocery
store.
