STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

ANAY MEHROTRA

To begin with, I have never been a good public speaker or an orator. I know that I don’t have the
confidence in being able to speak in front of an audience. I can endlessly, me reasoning I presume is
inductive and critical, my thoughts have clarity, my intuition is strong but all of this is overshadowed
but the fact that a swarm of people give me cold feet. Hence, I believe that doing moot courts in
college could help me build up my confidence in communicating and express my options in front of
people. My main reason for joining the MCA is to be able to closely observe the best public speakers
of our college so that I can learn the intricacies of mooting from them. Secondly, being a part of the
MCA could help me in becoming a good researcher. It is a well-known fact that research is the basis
for any legal argument. Thirdly, the MCA could help me get practical knowledge and guide me
towards the implication of this knowledge. Last but not the least being a part of the MCA could help
me understand the essence of teamwork and networking. Hence, the MCA could help in my overall
development as an individual. Continuing in this cell for entire 5 years of my college could help me
from being just another law graduate to turning into a good proficient lawyer when I finally pass out
from this prestigious college.

Now, as to what I will be bringing to the table with my induction in this cell is diversity. I have been a
scholar in my school from 2016-2019, so I know the dedication required to get the best result
possible. Moreover, in school, I have been in positions that required managerial and logistical work. I
was part of a city-wide initiative known as 'Mission Visesh.' which helped me develop editing and
management skills. I was also the vice-captain of my school's junior cricket team. I have also played
'soft tennis' at the national level after proving my skills at the state level tournaments. These
experiences have taught me the essential concept of leadership. I was also a part of the organizing
team of my school fest. From this, I learned the significance of teamwork. Hence, I am sure I can help
in the overall management logistics and working of the cell. From the time I heard about this cell in
NLIU, I was looking forward to being a part of the Sports Committee. To summarise, I may not be an
asset to the cell initially, but I can assure you that I will prove my dependability with time.
