programme
5. Semester and Year offered 8th Semester 4th Year
6. Prerequisite (if any): Business Statistics
7. Credit Value: 3 (Each credit x 50 minutes x 16 times = 40 Hours)
8. Accounting Studies Program Objective:
Becoming a study program that produces business leaders who understand the use of information
technology, and have global perspective and entrepreneurial mind-set.
9. Course Description:
This course is intended for students who need to complete their journal article or thesis. Not only
quantitative research is given but also qualitative research and the possibility of writing using mixed
methods approach. Furthermore the emergence of research is also found in business context where
problems are no longer being solved based on any feelings but instead a systematic and organized
effort is needed which is based on certain scientific method to have a logical solution so it can be
used for future considerations as well.
10. Course Objective:
Students are expected to acquire and apply their knowledge regarding quantitative, qualitative mixed
methods approach to solve business problems. Field research using survey which is widely used in
quantitative approach and focus group discussion or in-depth interview in qualitative approach will
be introduced and applied in the form of series of activities
11. Course Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand what quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods are (C1, P1, A1).
2. Differentiate the research approach (quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods) and when to
use one. (C4, P4, A4)
3. Design a literature map, develop hypothesis testing, theoretical propositions, and methods
4. Use Statistical Software to analyse data, evaluates, revises and summarizes the results (C6, P6,
A3)

1
5. Design and compose research in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods. (C5, P 5, A2)
12. Mode of Delivery Lectures, group discussion, individual exercises & group work,
and group project
