“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
You’ve probably already heard this line from the 1963
song. It’s one of those perennial favorites that captures
some of the essence of the festive nature of the Christmas
season (except for that line about telling “scary ghost
stories” – a practice from the Victorian era, but that’s for
another day). So just what is it about the weeks leading
up to December 25th that makes this line ring true in our
hearts and minds? Is it the lights, the decorations, the
gifts, the parties (pre-COVID anyway), the nativity?
This morning as I am writing this article, the sights and
sounds of our “Night of Christmas Worship” are still fresh
in my mind. This has been just one of the many blessings
my family has experienced from our new faith family here
at EBC over the last several weeks. (Thank you again Bro.
Lance and everyone who participated in making this a
great night of worship for EBC!)
The birth of the Savior of the world, this must be what
fuels the festive nature of this season. To ponder and
celebrate what the love of God looks like and the extent
to which God would go to redeem humanity, this is the
source of our unfading joy during this season. It is my
prayer that each of us this Christmas would revisit the
manger and consider the lengths that God has gone to
save us!
Thank you Eastmont for already loving our family and
welcoming us as a part of this faith family! We’re looking
forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do as we serve
the King of kings together.

COVID-19 Updates
Sunday Worship Services
8:45 am & 11:00 am services in the worship center. The
11:00 am service will be live streamed at eastmont.org/
live.
Overflow seating is available for those who want to attend
worship on campus but don’t feel comfortable being in
the worship center. Call the church office for more
information on this option.

January. If you would be willing to teach or assist, please

We are also still in need of helpers for GA and RA classes.

Forever Young
I would like to thank everyone who was able to join us
for our end of the year Forever Young. We had great
food and entertainment. A special thank you goes out to
Karen Bush and Renee Clements for decorating
fellowship hall for us. Looking forward to seeing how we
can meet to fellowship and grow in 2021 to bring honor
and glory to our Lord!

WINTER RETREAT - PIGEON FORGE, TN
Winter Retreat is January 15-18. Final travel and lodging
details will be sent out very soon. Registration for this
event is closed. Call the church office to arrange
payments for final balances.
TIMEOUT - WEDNESDAY WORSHIP
There will be no Wednesday student ministry activities
December 16, 23, and 30. We will resume Wednesday
activities in January.
TACKY SWEATER CHRISTMAS PARTY
Friday, December 18, Eastmont students will have their
Christmas Party from 6-8 p.m. There will be food, games,
prizes, and more. Invite friends and come dressed in
your best (worst) Christmas sweater.
PARENT/STUDENT MEETING JAN. 10
Sunday, January 10, at 5:00 p.m. there will be a meeting
for parents and students in the FH. At this meeting we
will distribute medical release forms and discuss new
guidelines for serving and chaperoning weekly activities,
trips and events. Dinner will be served.
DNOW WEEKEND SAVE-THE-DATE
River Region DNOW Weekend will take place February 12
-14, 2021. Sign-Ups will begin later in December.

Dec. 29-30. We will record the event and watch it at a
later date, however if you'd like to watch it live let Gene

Missions
Sponsor a Guatemalan Child
We're looking for individuals, families, or Life Group
classes to sponsor a child in Guatemala. For $380/year
you can help an impoverished child to go to school. This
money covers basic supplies, as well as financial support
for the family. If you sponsored a child this year and want
to continue to do so or if you have any questions about
being a sponsor for 2021 contact Karen Bush.

A huge thank you to all who made “A Night of Christmas
Worship” a success! It was a team effort from our choirs,
instrumentalists, tech team, and other worship
leadership. Our prayer is that all who were involved
worshiped with us and that our focus was narrowed into
the meaning of this season as we were reminded again
that “The Word Became Flesh!” -Merry Christmas
