I started the reply anthology with Reply 1988 which is arguably the best.

This whole fandom started with Hospital Playlist- an early 2020 show about friends and family
themed in the medical field. It turned out to be a heart-churning series as it touches the heart of
those who linger from the solace of their friends and family. There are a lot of things to love
about the series that it did bring out other works of the writer and director. Experiencing their
other works wasn’t that laborious.

So I found Reply 1994. It wasn’t as moving as Reply 1988 but it had a great way of delivering an
ending.

Reply 1994
Creators: Shin won-ho (Director) and Lee Woo-jung (Screenwriter)

It is a TV show that banked on the same genre as Hospital playlist and Reply 1988. Reply 1994
featured six friends. This adorable bunch met in a Sinchon boarding house in Seoul, Korea.

“June 19, 2002

Since boarding house closed. Like that, We were the first and last boarders at the Sinchon BH.

My life wasn’t special at first.

In the city of seoul where more than ten million people live, like a miracle, I met special people.
Us young country bumpkins’ lives became bustling and noisy, and in the end, our lives became
very special. We spent very special times together at the Sinchon Boarding House.

We cried. We laughed. We met. We separated. We had heartaches. Even though each of us had
different memories, encounters, and loves, we were together in the same place at the same time,
just like a miracle.

Even though we were poor salary men who needed to suck up to the world we were still
generation X. Even though she’s a nagging mom now. She was once a hot-blooded youth that
went crazy for boys.

In the history of mankind, we were the only blessed generation that experienced both analog and
digital cultures, The music of the 70’s and 80’s movies. I’m reflecting on myself for once
thinking they were old-fashioned and boring.those music and movies were not just music and
movies. Those were our youth and the good old days. I’ve come to realize it only after getting
older.

It’s December 28, 2013. In four days, we’re turning 40. To the all 40-year olds in the Republic
of Korea, and to all of us who survived through the tough ‘90s, I dedicate these words. We lived
through such amazing days. Our youth shone bright. We were passionate about love. Do you
remember those days?
We were once very hip. So as we embark on another possibly difficult time of our lives, Im
proposing that we live through it with our burning passion.

We were very passionate and innocent. And I miss that time so much. Do your hear me? If you
can hear me, then Reply. My dear ‘90s.”
