Football team records finale

It was been fun looking at football records for the
teams across Montana. This is the finale for teams. After
this I’ll dig back at individual records.
We don’t see many Class C teams kicking field goals.
In fact, I wasn’t sure any C team would even attempt one
of those three-point kicks. Valier booted two in a game
during the 1992 season with both against Browning JV.
Charlo booted 35 extra points in 10 games in 2011.
Superior leads 8-man football with total yards gained
on offense with 5,255 coming in the 2012 season. Wibaux
follows with 5,225 in 2006, Fairview totaled 5,061 in 2012
and Savage had 4,676 in 1983.
Wibaux averaged 435.4 yards a game in 12 games
during the 2011 season, while Fairview had an average of
421.75 in 2012. The Warriors also had the most rushing
yards in a season with 3,568 in 2012.
Lambert-Savage is tied with Gardiner with the most
rushing yards in a game with 489 against Jordan in 1992.
Savage also had 479 in a game with Scobey in 1983.
Fort Benton leads with the most rushing touchdowns
in a season with 68 in 2009. Wibaux had 64 in 2006, Scobey
63 in 2017, Savage had 62 and Fairview 61.
Fairview scored 11 TDs in a game against St. Labre
in 2012. The Warriors also had eight against Hays-
Lodgepole in 2011. They are third with the most passing
TDs in a season with 32 in 2012. Flint Creek had 36 in
2017. Fairview had eight in a game with Froid-Lake in
2012.
Fairview also gave up the fewest rushing yards in a
season with 747 in 1989 and the Warriors also gave up the
fewest first downs in a season with 55 in 1989 and 59 in
2002.
Now a look at 6-man football records, Mon-Dak
(Westby-Grenora) is in most of the category. The Thunder
is on top with total offense in a season with 5,143 in 2017.
They also had 4,772 in 2016, 4,268 in 2013 and 4,259 in

in 2012, 395.6 in 2017 and Savage 425.1 in 1993.
Savage is third with most points scored in a game
with 106 against Frazer in 2004. Jordan also had 106
against Heart Butte in 2009 and Lambert had 103 against
Brockton in 2009.
Mon-Dak also had a stingy defense, holding its
opponents to 970 rushing yards in 2014 and 1,213 in 2017.
The Thunder holds down the top five spots with most
passing yards in a season with 3,604 in 2017. They had
3,131 in 2014, 2,980 in 2013, 2,969 in 2016 and 2,905 in
2015.
The Thunder also holds down the top seven spots for
the average yards a game with 290.5 in 2015. Most passes
completed on average they were 21.4 percent in 2015. The

And most TDs passing in a season the Thunder had
73 in 2017, 56 in 2016, 55 in 2014 and 53 in 2013. They also
have the most interceptions in a game with nine against
Ekalaka in 2016.
