OBJECT LESSON

JOHN 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

LESSON:
I’ve got another Bible verse to share, and if you know it, say it with me, ok? (Quote John 3:16)
I thought some of you might know that one. John 3:16 is one of the most popular verses in the
whole Bible.
Let’s take a minute to really learn what Jesus was saying.
“For God so loved the world…”
Do you believe that? That God really does love the world. The WHOLE world. The good, bad,
rich, poor, young, old, sick, healthy, angry, and joyful. God loves us all. He loves those who
love Him, and He loves those who hate Him.
We all sin sometimes, but it is so nice to know that God will still love us even when do mess up.
“…that He gave His one and only Son,…”
Whenever you think that God doesn’t love you, remember this part of the verse. It only shows
that He loves us that He could give His only son. Who would do that, right?
“…that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God loves YOU so much that He was willing to send His Son Jesus as YOUR sacrifice, so YOU
could live in heaven with Him. Yes YOU!
Aren’t you happy to know that?
Okay. Let’s do a drill.
Raise your left hand if you are happy that God loves YOU!
Raise your right hand if you also love Jesus!
Wave your hands if you want to live in heaven with Jesus!
Raise your two hands, wave them and wiggle your body, If you want all your family members to
live in heaven with Jesus!
Object Used: Chair
Explanation: Place a chair in front of the students. Ask one student to stand up and sit on the
chair.
“Do you believe the chair can hold you up?”
How will you know that it can hold you up?
Isn’t is by sitting on it?
The only way you can be sure that the chair could carry you up is by sitting in it.
Even though you will not sit in the chair you can think that it can hold you up, but until you
actually sit on it, only then you can really believe that it is strong enough to hold you up.
In the same way, believing in God is more than knowing that he exists.
To believe in God, it means you trust him.
To rely on him.
To lean on him.
To understand that you have no hope apart from him and his work on the cross is his way to
pay the penalty from all the sins you have committed.
Activity: Give every students one sheet of paper. Ask them to sit on their chair and draw what
they will put in trust to the chair just like how they will put trust and believe in God.
For example, their loved ones, studies or even the littlest thing they can trust to put in the
chair.
After drawing it, ask them to explain their drawings and the reason they chose to draw it and
put trust to God.
