Android Accessibility Overview
We often use mobile devices and BYOD in our classroom to engage with content and complete activities. You
can customize your Android device to be more accessible by using various accessibility settings and apps.

In the next few slides, I will be sharing 5 accessibility features that you can utilize on an android device.
How To Access Accessibility

On Android Device:

Screen Reader
Features such as “Voice assistant” where your phone
provides spoken feedback to help blind and low-vision
users.

Ex. It describes what you touch, select, and activate.

- It also includes a tutorial on how to use the

feature.
 Visibility Enhancements
Color and Clarity -

● High contrast theme, fonts, keyboard

● Show button shapes
● Negative colors, color adjustment, color lens
● Animation removal

Size and Zoom -

● Magnifier window
● Magnification
● Large mouse/touchpad pointer
● Font size and style
● Screen zoom
Hearing Enhancements
Adjust the audio to help your hearing, or use alternatives like text -

● Real Time text

● Sound detectors
● Mute all sounds
● Hearing aid support
● Mono audio

Interaction and Dexterity
Enhance or replace touch interactions and other controls -
