1. Explain what is nation building and why is it important?

Nation-building refers to the process of creating a national identity by the people from various
origins, histories, cultures, languages, and religions come together that aims to unite its
people and get rid of the injustices, and maintain steadiness within the nation. This concept is
important since it helps the nation build a sustainable community and economy, it also
contributes especially in realizing the educational, cultural, environmental, political objectives
and reflecting the vision that you want for the nation. Nation-building also plays a great role
in showing the commitment and solidarity among its citizens regardless of the existence of
diversity in the nation.

2. What is your role as youth in nation-building?

As a youth who still got the energy and capacity to take part in whatever activities that the
nation would conduct, I will ensure that I participate because even it is just a small
contribution, it surely still matters. I always believe to what the late Philippine hero Jose Rizal
once said that "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" which means that the youth is the hope of
the nation, with the intelligence and advancement of this generation, everything is possible
that is why as a youth, I have to involve my self in terms of protecting and promoting physical,
moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being to eventually help determine the nation’s
future.
