Essay Writing: What To Expect in The Lab
Essay Writing: What To Expect in The Lab
You will have 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) to write a 3-5 paragraph essay
(approximately 350-500 words) to express and support your opinion/argument on a
given topic.
Evaluation does not change whether you choose to type or handwrite the
essay.
If you decide to handwrite your essay, write clearly so the assessors can read
your essay.
You will write your essay based on the single topic given.
Before you begin, read the questions carefully to understand what you are
being asked to do.
Clarity and organization of ideas are more important than word count and
number of paragraphs.
Additional paper will be provided so that you can plan your essay (these
pages will not be evaluated).
Planning will allow you to think about the topic and how you want to present
your thoughts through an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a
conclusion. Planning must be done within the time limit (75 minutes).
